What to Expect During the Procedure

Recovery After Earlobe Reduction
Recovery is usually straightforward. Most patients return to normal daily activities within 1 to 2 days, although mild swelling, tenderness, bruising, or tightness can happen during the early healing period.
You will receive instructions for cleaning the area, protecting the incisions, and avoiding pressure on the ears while they heal. Follow-up visits allow the team to check your progress and answer questions.
Wearing Earrings After Surgery
You will need to avoid earrings while the earlobes heal. Heavy earrings should be avoided longer because they can pull on the tissue and affect the result.
Dr. Weniger will tell you when it is safe to wear earrings again and whether re-piercing is appropriate. Long-term, lighter earrings are usually better for preserving the shape of the earlobes.
