Radiesse
Replenish volume and stimulate collagen for natural, youthful-looking results.
Radiesse® (previously known as Radiance) is a type of injectable filler which is comprised of calcium hydroxylapatite (CaHA). It is a biocompatible, non-toxic and non-allergenic filler. Radiesse® is commonly used to reduce the appearance of facial wrinkles and folds occurring around the mouth and nose, such as the nasolabial folds and marionette lines. It may also be used to fill in some types of scars as well as to contour facial features like the chin, cheeks and jaw line.
Radiesse® is made up of a compound of calcium hydroxylapatite microspheres which are suspended in a carboxymethylcellulose gel. This filler produces an initial plumping of the skin during the first three months after injection which is then followed by extended correction as new tissue regenerates.

Prior to the treatment, a local anesthetic or topical anesthetic may be administered to maximize the patient’s comfort level. The Radiesse® is then injected beneath the skin using a fine needle. This is a simple, quick procedure which can take as little as fifteen minutes to complete. In addition, patients are able to immediately resume work and other normal activities as there is no recovery or downtime associated with Radiesse® injections. This is a long-lasting injectable filler which provides results that may last two or more years.
Radiesse® is a safe injectable treatment, however as with any injectable treatment there are potential side effects. Minor swelling, discomfort or bruising may occur which generally clears up within a day or two. The formation of nodules is another rare but possible risk.
