Breast Reduction Article
Breast Reduction – TV Spot Copy (Frederick G. Weniger)
Hello, my name is Dr. Fred Weniger of Weniger Plastic Surgery bringing you this week’s health tip:
Last week we talked about skin cancer and the importance of having suspicious lesions checked out early. Today, I would like to talk to you about breast reduction.
Breast reduction is an operation which relieves the pain and other symptoms which can severely limit women with overly-large breasts. Women who can benefit from breast reduction surgery are women who have large breasts which cause:
- Back pain
- Shoulder pain
- Neck pain
- Rashes under the breasts
- Deep grooves from bra straps
Often, women who suffer from these symptoms can not get relief with support bras, weight loss, or even prescription medications. Such women can suffer not only because of the physical symptoms, but because their breasts limit them from participating in sports, exercise, or even some employment duties. Additionally, for many women, overly large breasts can make them look overweight, even if they are not.
What many ladies do not realize is this: because of the real physical symptoms and limitations caused by overly large breasts, insurance companies will usually pay for breast reductions to improve these symptoms. Generally, patients are extremely happy with the results of breast reduction surgery. In fact, of all plastic surgery operations, breast reduction has one of the highest rates of patient satisfaction. This is due to the relief of symptoms, as well as the fact that the smaller breasts after surgery have a more youthful, attractive appearance.
If you know someone who suffers from the symptoms of overly large breasts, they should talk to their doctor about whether seeing a plastic surgeon for breast reduction is right for them.
Again, this is Dr. Fred Weniger of Weniger Plastic Surgery. I’ll look forward to talking to you next week about cosmetic breast improvements.
