Sciton Erbium Resurfacing Bluffton
What is Sciton® Erbium Laser Resurfacing?
Sciton® Erbium laser resurfacing uses the Sciton® Erbium laser to direct a 2940 nm computer-controlled laser beam across the surface of the skin in order to even out skin tone and erase visible skin damage that has occurred, such as wrinkles and scars.
The Sciton® Erbium laser is the most sophisticated surgical laser available for this purpose and it consistently delivers some of the best results available. Since it is computer controlled, clients receive precise and maximum results. Three treatment levels are available: superficial, fractional, and deep. The treatment level used depends upon the degree of resurfacing required.
By using a computer-controlled laser beam, the surgeon can pinpoint the specific area or areas that need to be resurfaced and yet leave the surrounding tissue untouched. This procedure facilitates rapid recovery while providing optimal results to the client. The combination of our caring and expert staff along with the advanced technology of the Sciton Erbium helps our patients achieve superior results.
Why Should I Have Sciton® Erbium Laser Resurfacing?
As you age, your body experiences various traumas that can adversely affect the appearance and quality of your skin. Your skin is also subject to hereditary, environmental, and dietary influences that, over time, may leave it looking wrinkled and haggard. Laser resurfacing can reduce or eliminate the deep wrinkles, fine lines, irregularities, and blotchiness that can develop over time. Sciton® Erbium laser resurfacing will leave you with glowing, youthful skin that can take years off your appearance.
While fine lines and some skin tone unevenness may require a shallow treatment, pock marks, stretch marks, and so forth, may necessitate a deeper treatment. This will be discussed in your consultation. Whatever the degree of resurfacing necessary, The Sciton® Erbium laser consistently combines the best treatment outcome available with the shortest recovery time.
Laser resurfacing can reduce or eliminate wrinkles and lines on the face as well as on other parts of the body. Resurfacing can also remove age spots and blemishes so that skin appears substantially softer and more youthful.
Appearing more youthful can boost both your self-confidence and your self-esteem. Laser resurfacing can help you reverse the aging process by smoothing, evening, and toning your skin. By removing the old dead skin, you may reduce your risk of some skin disorders as well, since the old, damaged skin will be gone. The new, fresh skin that takes its place will not have been subject to the deleterious effects of lifestyle and the environment, which can reduce or eliminate some possible skin risks.
In order to maintain their new skin, many clients return periodically for a refresher treatment, opting for the superficial level of treatment. This enables them to keep their skin youthful and glowing and maintain their improved levels of self-confidence and self-esteem.

Sciton® Erbium Laser Resurfacing Procedure
Generally, treatments take about 30 to 60 minutes. A special numbing cream is then applied to the skin before the laser treatment begins. For deeper procedures, local or general anesthesia may be required. This will be discussed in the initial consultation.
The Sciton® Erbium laser projects a laser beam across the area being treated and removes precisely the amount of skin necessary in order to achieve the desired results. This procedure also stimulates the body to produce collagen, which helps tighten the skin and encourages the growth of new skin. The degree of skin removed depends on the existing damage and the desired result.
There should be little or no pain during the treatment due to the numbing cream and the anesthesia if it is required.
